Lesley Morphet | Director of Deneys Reitz
Lesley Morphet is a Director in the Johannesburg office of Deneys Reitz, where she is the head of the Competition Law Unit in the Commercial Department.
Mrs Morphet is a member of the Executive Committee of the Competition Committee of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, and has presented papers and written articles on the implications of the Competition Act, No 89 of 1998 and its amendments. She has been extensively involved in merger filings to the South African Competition Commission.
She advises clients in regard to prohibited practices, and has been closely involved in the development of competition law since the coming into operation of the Competition Act in 1999. She has for several years been nominated as one of two leading practitioners in Competition Law in South Africa by international publications such as Global Counsel Review.
She has advised clients such as Siemens, Anglo Platinum, Implats, DaimlerChrysler, Rand Merchant Bank, PepsiCo Inc and Chevron on competition issues. She has also assisted clients with competition matters in a number of African jurisdictions.
